This is one of the most popular restaurants in Santa Fe for a reason- it is so, so good. Make sure you get a reservation ahead of time. (The communal table is fun!) The menu rotates and it is all interesting and great! Casual dress and atmosphere. - Lauren
This restaurant is a 15 minute drive from the plaza, north into the mountains. They have a huge patio, rarely do you need a reservation, and the sunsets here cannot be beat. If you can do this drive during sunset and get a patio seat, you will be blown away. They serve the typical Santa Fe fare, all really good. This place has the best queso and chips in town by far. Very casual. - Lauren
It may seem weird to get South Indian food in Santa Fe, but if you want something other than green chile, this is a great option. We love the classic Paper Dosa and the seasonal curry- all the apps are great too. The line can get long, so make sure you get there early! (They will do reservations for 6 or more people.) - Lauren
Hands down the best restaurant in town. Get reservations a few weeks ahead, although sometimes they add more time slots. They have a rotating menu of very unique items. They are known for their mole and we love them all. The chef/owner makes sure to stop by every table, every night. This is the most upscale on our list, although you can still get away with nice jeans. Not kid friendly. Perfect for a long dinner with an adventurous eater and great conversation! (None of the Frida art is for sale- we've tried.) - Lauren
This is the most popular restaurant in the Plaza. You have to get your spot in line as soon as they open- they text you when it is ready. I have never had a bad meal here. The bean burrito with green chile is the best in town. I love this place! - Lauren
Perfect place for brunch and lunch. They have a lovely patio and cozy indoor seating. I love to start a day on Canyon Road here. The cappuccino is crazy good and they have a huge selection of teas. I enjoy their quiche and salads, as well as their vegetarian breakfast bowls. (If you want a breakfast burrito, look to our other options!) - Lauren
Famous for diverse art galleries, you can spend an entire day or an afternoon here. There are countless galleries and shops (several of our favorites listed here). Don't miss the sculpture gardens and make sure you peek in every corner of the galleries you love- there are often hidden rooms and patios with more to explore. Canyon Road is one of Santa Fe's best treasures! - Lauren
One of my favorite galleries on Canyon Road, they have dozens of pieces from my favorite sculptor, Lorri Accott. They have a fantastic selection of art, perfect for browsing inside and out. The large sculpture gardens are located behind this gallery.- Lauren
Great selection of household items, interesting clothing, kids items, art, and jewelry. Some of my favorite rings are from here. Also, the owner and staff are so kind and fun. (Fun fact- look at their Instagram if you love The Righteous Gemstones on HBO :) - Lauren
Don't leave Santa Fe without finding your unique Zuni Fetish (and perhaps a few for your loved ones). They only sell authentic Zuni fetishes with helpful descriptions available. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. (Lots of breakables and tiny things- if your kid is amped up you may leave him outside :) You will love it. Promise. - Lauren
A favorite gallery on Canyon Road. She keeps a great rotation of art, jewelry, and random items. Small store but fantastic selection. As far as Canyon Road goes, she has more affordable items than most. She also shows one of our favorite local artists, Jake Truijillo. - Lauren
Walkable from the venue, you can see everything in an hour, exhibits rotate regularly. This is a perfect place to stop in if you are short on time or if you love O'Keeffe like we do. They also have a wonderful gift shop! I would leave small kids out on this one. - Lauren
Rotating collection of Native art ranging all mediums. You can get through this one in about 45 minutes and enjoy the diversity of Native cultures and art forms. This is an easy museum to pop into if you are wandering the Plaza- plus admission is free if you are a tribal citizen! - Lauren
The original Meow Wolf. Great place to take the whole family or just friends. I would save at least two hours. Meow Wolf is usually busy but never boring. It can get overwhelming if you are sensitive to crazy. (See if you can find the secret phone that calls OKC and video chat with a stranger from here!) - Lauren
My favorite hike in Santa Fe. It can be a bit challenging and there is no shade, so you need plenty of water and an early start. They recently added some aggressive signs regarding noise and neighbors, but I have never had any issues. The view from the top is spectacular. Small kids should try Dale Ball or other trails. - Lauren
