We matched on Tinder at the end of 2017 and when Chris was not available for 2 weeks, Kristen asked what he did for work. In true Chris fashion, he told Kristen he was an exotic dancer and that Thursdays were his busy night. Smelling a lie, but thinking maybe he worked in a restaurant or other hospitality job, Kristen told Chris that in fact, she was also an exotic dancer. Fast forward to their first date, taco Tuesday at Tacoria in Jersey City, and honestly neither were quite sure how to feel. It wasn't until their third date when Chris took Kristen to dinner, Barcade and ended the night at his favorite dive bar, O'Leary's, that they both knew this could be the start of something special. A few more dates, and a Jersey City Saint Patrick's Day Parade Day later, and the rest is history.
After making jokes about proposing starting in January, Chris finally popped the question on a cloudy Sunday in September. He used the ruse that his parents needed help closing up their shore house and suggested that they go to dinner and a sunset in Lavallette (Kristen's favorite spot), before they head home. For the sunset, Chris brought along the cooler with the ring and champagne hidden inside. After he proposed, Kristen's sisters popped out from their hiding spots, where they were taking pictures. It was then that Chris told Kristen that her diamond was her mother's and he had it reset, which made everything even more special. Afterwards, they all went to the Crabs Claw for some celebratory drinks!
