Our relationship began in 2021 with a pair of right swipes on Hinge. Great conversation and chemistry solidified the mark of an engaging first date and before it was over the next date was planned. We were both very intentional about genuinely taking the time to get to know each other and date in a meaningful way. We shared in the pride of our Caribbean heritage and the fact that we were both born in NYC even though Keyerra says Chris can’t claim NYC like she claims NYC lol. We also shared in our love for homemade popcorn, hikes on nature trails, and impromptu picnic dates. Keyerra knew that Chris was a keeper because he would send her clever riddles not knowing how much she really loved them. It brought her true joy to solve them no matter how challenging they were. Even in the midst of a pandemic we were resourceful and planned fun, creative ways to spend thoughtful time together. As the city began to open up it gave way for our relationship to flourish. In August of 2021 we made our status official as a couple. Chris was drawn into Keyerra’s love for culture, travel, festivals, and her inquisitive thought process. Chris introduced Keyerra to Epiphany Fellowship Church where he was a long time member and coincidentally it was the church Keyerra regularly viewed online, during the early stages of the pandemic. Epiphany Fellowship reopened for in-person gatherings in 2022 and we began attending service weekly. This helped us to connect spiritually, as we both had desires to strengthen our faith and relationship with Christ. Keyerra became an active covenant community member and started serving in ministry. We completed pre-engagement classes to prepare us for a Christ centered relationship and in July 2023 we outwardly proclaimed the work that God was doing in our lives by getting baptized together. We traveled, celebrated birthdays, holidays, and other special events together. We introduced our dogs Chu and Shady to each other, and let’s just say that their relationship is still a work in progress lol. In November 2023, Chris planned a hiking date to Hawk Mountain and proposed at the highest overlook. Keyerra said Yes! Now that we’ve shared our story with you we can’t wait for you to be a part of the next chapter. We are excited to spend the beginning of our forever with you on Sunday, September 1st 2024.
