How We Met Over 7 years ago, Chris and Katie met through mutual friends. Throughout that next year, they saw each other at multiple gatherings. At a particular party there were sparks flying and everyone around them could see the chemistry. After a memorable evening at a comedy show, Chris and Katie began dating. I Love You Katie was planning a trip to New York City and invited Chris to come along. At a rooftop bar on the last night in NYC, after several drinks, Katie finally got the courage to tell Chris she was in love with him. Chris said he felt the same way. Shortly after that, Katie moved to Sacramento to live with Chris. The Move About a year later, Katie was accepted into nursing school in Rochester, New York. She was surprised when Chris said he wanted to go with her, but he was ready for a new adventure and didn't want to be without her. They packed up their lives into a little red Mazda and drove across the country. Katie was thankful to have Chris' support during her schooling. They were homesick and greatly missed their family and friends in California. However, Katie and Chris both met some of the most genuine and loyal friends during her nursing school program. They always made us feel like part of their family, inviting us over to their home for Sunday football, birthday parties, and holidays. We are so thankful for the time we spent in New York and for the friends we made there, who we now consider part of our family. In December of 2015, Katie accepted a job as a Nurse at UC Davis and they moved back to Sacramento. The Proposal On August 25, 2018, on a beautiful Saturday, Chris and Katie went to Lake Tahoe with some of their closest family. Katie thought this was just a relaxing family day. However, Chris had other plans. While at Camp Richardson beach, Chris tapped Katie on the shoulder, when she turned around, he was down on one knee and popped the question. Katie happily said YES!
