How I Met Chris

KALLE'S STORY:

April 2018: We both swiped right. Thanks, Tinder. April 30th, 2018: After a few messages about taking our dogs to work with us & some witty banter about (mutually) not being axe murderers, Chris asked me to dinner at a newly opened restaurant in Basalt, CO. So there I was, EARLY (for the first time in my life), wondering if he was going to show, and hoping I would be able to recognize him from his profile pictures. *Checks watch*: "Am I being stood up?" Then he rounds the corner, and pulls open the door to the small restaurant. "Wow", I thought, "he's so tall..and SO handsome." The conversation flowed seamlessly, discussing our families, love for sailing, love for traveling, and our mutual affinity for golf (I had him hooked here). Hours later, Chris walked me to my car and left me with a hug. A hug??? I thought to myself, "Huh, maybe I totally read that wrong.........or....... maybe he's just an ACTUAL gentleman. Could I be that lucky?" After a solid 12 hours of uncertainty, I received the best message ever. Chris had a great time, and wanted to know when he could see me again. A few golf dates and dinners later, and we couldn't wait until the next time(s) we would get to see each other. Every time we saw each other was better than the last, and pretty soon we were inseparable. A year later, we moved into our beautiful home in Carbondale, and never looked back.

How I Met Kalle

CHRIS' STORY: In the spring of 2018, I was sitting outside at Capital Creek Brewing Company with my friend Brian. I was having a beer outside and trying to think what to text this Kalle girl (I was pronouncing Cali at that time) I had just met. She seemed way too cool, so I was trying my best to impress. I asked Brian if he knew her from this small valley. "Oh yeah! She's one of the main models in the Aspen Fashion Show", he said with excitement. "Don't screw this up Chris..." Whatever I said worked, and she agreed to meet. She showed up early and I was late. A first for both of us. Uh, oh. She's a hot blond in a leather jacket. Play it cool Chris. After trying to order for the both of us, Kalle informed me she was a vegetarian. Smooth move. The conversation came easy, and after a short while I learned she was as big a dork as I am! Kalle even managed to sneak in the correct pronunciation of her name to avoid me sticking my foot in my mouth. She tried to split the bill and I refused. I really wanted to kiss her after dinner, but didn't want to be too forward. Well, eventually I kissed her. Since then we've traveled to L.A., the Bahamas, Orchard, TX, and Michigan. I've never been happier in my life and can't wait to continue our adventures together.
