Grace had grown up in Kenya, graduated college at Wheaton, and spent a few months in Kenya again, until coming back to NOVA for work. On the other hand, Chris had grown up in Virginia all his life and was working a corporate job, though prayerfully considering full-time ministry. The two who lived very different lives met one Sunday in February of 2023. Chris casually approached her, while she was secretly very flustered, and as they were introducing themselves, hearts fluttered and interest was piqued. From then on there were many sleepless nights of "friendly" texting, "meetups" at Barnes and Noble, "study dates" at Wegmans, and shared conversations and hearts for ministry and missions. As fate (or Christ) would have it, and not even half a year into meeting, Chris and Grace began their relationship June 8th. One perfect day in early March 2024, Chris surprised Grace with a picnic in Shenandoah and a question that ended up with teary hugs and laughs. They are so excited and blessed to celebrate a life together and can't wait to see you in July!
