Once Upon a Time in Athens, Georgia

They met at a concert. She was a wing-woman. He was not as cool as he thought. They were uninterested in the other, but then the music started. Family & Friends took stage at The Georgia Theater, and Chris and Gabby started dancing. That was January 9, 2015. That was the start of their life together, though they wouldn't know that until much later. Their relationship(s) started, stopped, and restarted throughout 2015. Then, something changed. Their on-again-off-again relationship switched to the on position forever. From thereafter, they were inseparable. While she worked an internship, he studied for the LSAT. While he started law school, she started her first job. She was there for him through the ceaseless studying, rigorous exams, and disastrous interviews. He was there for her through career shifts, teaching stints in Spain, and a cat or two. After graduating from law school, passing the bar, and starting his first job they moved in together. Living under one roof was by far the biggest challenge they faced at that point. But their love and support for each other and for the life they built together enable them to make a home together in their Grant Park apartment. Little did they know that just a few months after moving in together, that apartment would be their entire world for nearly a year. March 2020 happened. They experienced many of the same struggles all other couples faced during the pandemic. Yet they refused to let their relationship suffer. They worked on themselves for each other. They laughed, loved, cried, and maybe even went slightly mad (shoutout to Freddie M.). They came out on the other side--if you can even call it that--stronger than when they went in. And with a couple more jobs under their belt, they were ready to start a new chapter in their lives. But she didn't know it yet. Always one for an adventure, and always one for an itinerary, she suggested they go to Peru, and he started planning their trip...and their engagement. On October 17, 2021, at the top of Machu Picchu, surrounded by beautiful Mama Pacha, and with a stomach full of nerves and altitude sickness, he got down on one knee for her. She cried, he forgot to put the ring on her hand, and there, at one of the Seven Wonders of the World, they endeared themselves to each other forever. It was perfect--just as he planned in the itinerary. That is the story of us in less than 2,500 characters. We spared details and fudged some others. But if you give us another 2,500 characters, or just a beer, we'd be more than happy to tell you more AT OUR WEDDING!! We cannot wait to celebrate, dance, and be with all of our fans ;) on January 14. We are so happy to share this with all of you. Love, Chris & Gabby
