Travel Note
If you want to visit Glacier National Park while you're in town for our wedding, you will need two passes: a vehicle pass and a national park pass. Here are the details for both: #1) Vehicle Pass In order to get into the park you will need to purchase an entry ticket (1 per car, not per person) for the dates you will be visiting. The tickets, which are about to go on sale online, are for the Going To The Sun Road which is the entrance on the west side of the park where our wedding is taking place. (There are other roads you don’t need tickets for, but they are on the east side of the park several hours drive away. Even if you are entering just to take the park’s free shuttle you still need the ticket.) Tickets for each car are $2 and valid for 3 days. They go on sale 120 days in advance of the day of use (so tickets to enter the park on Aug 6th would go on sale April 8th for example). Tickets seem to being selling out the same day, sometimes within a few hours, so it’s recommended you aim to purchase right when they go on sale at 8am MDT. If you can’t get a ticket, half of all tickets go on sale 120 days out and the other half the day before the ticket is to be used. Also, you only need the ticket to enter the park between 6am and 4pm. Tickets can be purchased at Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor 3-Day Vehicle Reservations, Glacier National Park Vehicle Reservations - Recreation.gov #2) National Park Pass In addition to a vehicle pass, you will need to purchase a national park pass. Please see the link to find the right option for you. Unlike the parking pass, these are easy to obtain and do not need to be purchased ahead of time. https://www.allglacier.com/park_info/fees_permits.php
