Reluctant to trying "online dating," we both decided to give it a shot in early 2018. Chris sent me (Denise) the first smile on Christian Mingle. I thought he lived too far away and was too young, so ignored him for 2 weeks. After talking to some ladies at church about it, I decided to give him a chance (at least! lol). We started chatting on the phone and after a week met in person in Princeton, NJ. There was definitely a physical attraction as soon as I saw him! As I continued getting to know him, I knew he genuinely loved The Lord. I was hooked! - Denise

Chris had it all planned out! We were going whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe with some friends and renting a big house together. It would be the perfect time to propose under the sunset and to get friends to take the pictures. BUT, I (Denise) was hungry and wanted some burgers. "Let's just stay in the house and eat. We can always watch the sunset another day." Trying to play it cool, Chris tried making it seem like it wasn't a big deal to miss the sunset, even though he was internally freaking out lol. Our friends arrived and we started our hour long hike - finally getting to a beautiful view of the lake right on time for the sunset. He asked me to turn around and look at the sun (I started getting butterflies in my stomach because I knew something was up!). He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I think I was in shock, but eventually said, "YES!" - Denise
