Question

Do I need a visa to travel?Do I need a visa to travel?

Answer

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for domestic travel. However, starting May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers flying domestically will need to present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification (like a passport). Make sure your ID meets the REAL ID requirements ahead of your trip. If you are traveling from the United Kingdom, you do not need a traditional visa for short visits. However, you must apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) through the U.S. Visa Waiver Program before your trip. The ESTA allows you to visit for up to 90 days for tourism purposes. We highly recommend applying early. You can complete the application here: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/. Guests from other international locations should check current U.S. entry requirements based on their country of citizenship.
