FAQs

Question

Transportation

Answer

We want you to spend the weekend celebrating with us, not stressing about parking! San Francisco parking can be expensive and limited, so for events in the city we recommend using Uber, Lyft, or Waymo to get around. For Sunday's Tornaboda in Fairfield, you'll need a car or a rideshare. Friday — Welcome Party (The Jay Hotel, San Francisco) If you're staying at The Jay, lucky you — just head to the third floor! For everyone else, we recommend taking an Uber, Lyft, or Waymo to the hotel rather than dealing with downtown parking. Come ready to kick off the weekend with us. Saturday — Ceremony & Reception (San Francisco) The ceremony is at Saints Peter and Paul Church in North Beach, and the reception is at the Asian Art Museum in Civic Center. These are in two different neighborhoods, so plan on a ride between them as well. We strongly recommend rideshare for the entire day so you can relax and enjoy the evening without worrying about parking or navigating the city. See the Parking Near the Asian Art Museum section below if you do decide to drive. Sunday — Tornaboda / Subhiya (Fairfield) We're closing out the weekend with a Tornaboda at Chris's Grandparents' house in Fairfield, about 45 minutes from San Francisco depending on traffic. If you've rented a car, it's a straightforward drive. If not, we'd love for guests to coordinate carpools or split an Uber/Lyft together — the ride from SF can add up on your own, and it's more fun with company anyway.

Question

Parking Near the Asian Art Museum (Venue)

Answer

The Civic Center Parking Garage at 355 McAllister Street is the closest garage to the venue and the best option for guests who are driving, since it's the only nearby garage with after-hours access. During the garage's regular hours, you can enter from either the Larkin Street or McAllister Street side. Since our celebration runs past closing, you'll need to use the after-hours entrance on the McAllister Street side of the plaza, facing City Hall. Just enter your parking ticket number on the keypad and you're all set. One thing to keep in mind: please hold onto your parking ticket! You'll need it to exit the garage after hours. If it gets misplaced, you won't be able to access your car until the garage reopens the following morning. For guests who don't plan to stay until the end of the night, several other garages in the area may offer better rates or a more convenient location. We recommend checking SpotHero (spothero.com or the SpotHero app) to view live rates, compare options, and reserve a spot in advance.

Question

Parking Near the Jay Hotel

Answer

The Jay offers valet parking for approximately $85-$91 per night, depending on your booking channel. There is no self-park option at the hotel. For guests looking for less expensive alternatives, there are several covered parking garages within walking distance: 622 Washington Street is the closest option at about a 4-minute walk. Self-park and valet are available, with self-park at $42/day. The garage is accessible after hours via code. No in-and-out privileges. Note that this garage accommodates small vehicles only, so keep that in mind if you're driving a larger SUV or truck. 825 Sansome Street is about a 5-minute walk and offers both self-park and valet. Self-park runs $37/day, making it the most affordable option on this list. The garage is accessible 24/7 via code for after-hours entry and exit. No in-and-out privileges. 445 Pine Street (555 California St.) is roughly a 7-minute walk with self-park and valet available. Self-park is approximately $40/day. The garage is accessible after hours via code. No in-and-out privileges. 533 Clay Street (475 Sansome St.) is valet only at approximately $47/day. This garage is only accessible during operating hours (5am to 9pm), so plan accordingly if the event runs late. No in-and-out privileges. We recommend checking SpotHero (spothero.com or the SpotHero app) to view live rates, confirm pricing for specific dates, and reserve a spot in advance. SpotHero is also a great way to find alternative lots and garages that may better suit your needs.
