What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

The weather will be comfortable. Traditional highs & lows 82° / 66°. Please bring a light jacket as the wedding is outside.

Will COVID precautions be taken?

Answer

Yes! The wedding transportation, ferry, and venue are private to our guests only. The entire wedding ceremony, reception, and dancing will be outside and in open spaces. The venue will abide by all COVID mandated precautions. Mexico requires that guests in public spaces use masks, this includes transportation, lobbies, hallways, etc. Outdoor activities, no masks required.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

At a private venue off the coast of Puerto Vallarta. This is a beach location and we'll be at the water's edge. There is a walk from the Ferry dock to the ceremony site. The walk is rocky, so wear comfortable shoes.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please plan on meeting at the Velas Vallarta lobby at 4 pm on the day of the wedding. There is only one ferry to the ceremony site. If you miss the ferry, you'll miss the wedding. Don't be late.

What if I get motion sick?

Answer

The ferry is a very large commuter ferry and you'll be able to see the coastline almost the entire route. However, we recommend you take motion sickness medicine one to two hours before traveling. We will also have motion sickness bracelets on board.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is beach chic attire. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear guayabera dress shirts. Ladies should avoid stilettos as the sand can be unstable.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to cocktail hour where we will be serving finger foods, open bar, and have special musical guests. In addition, there will be an exotic animal encounter for the children. This will be hosted by the animal caretakers at the venue.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

YES!!! Dinner will be served buffet style and there will be meat, seafood, gluten-free, and vegetarian/vegan options.

Answer

Yes, there will be gluten-free and vegan options available

Answer

No gifts, please. Your company is our gift.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #MrAndMrsLewis so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

What if I need to take a quiet break during the wedding?

Answer

There is a suite for our use. Please take respite, use it for tired kids, or just to relax.

What if there is a medical emergency during the event?

Answer

The venue has trained medics on staff and there is transportation that can get a person from the venue to the marina in 10 minutes. In addition, Puerta Vallarta has some of the best hospitals in the country.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know.

Will there be any other events to attend during the wedding weekend?

Answer

We have no planned events. We want everyone to just relax and have fun doing the things they want to do. For guests staying at the Velas Vallarta, there will be plenty of time to meet up. We plan to be at the pool and/or beach daily.

How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?

Answer

We're asking everyone to share their preferred email and phone number with us. We plan to share updates, antidotes, and schedules via email.

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, a passport is required.

What are the arrivals/departure protocols?

Answer

The airline has some enforced protocols for travel. These are being loosened/updated regularly.
