Driving to Door County, WI
For guests that have lodging reserved on the island and intend to bring their vehicles, we recommend arriving on Thursday 8/15 to avoid the possibility of ferry lines several hours long on Friday afternoon.
From Chicago:
Approximately 5 hours by car to ferry at Northport Pier; we recommend leaving Chicago mid-morning to avoid both Chicago and Milwaukee rush hours, which can add considerable time to the commute. Be mindful of your speed as the WI State Highway Patrol loves nothing more than to deliver costly tickets to flashy Illinois drivers. Ask Chris about it!
From Green Bay International Airport:
Approximately 1.5 hours by car to the ferry at Northport Pier.
