Question

Transportation for the Wedding on 11/4

Answer

We WILL be providing transportation for our guests to and from the venue on the wedding day. We will be designating a few "pick-up spots" as our guests will be staying in different locations around the island. If you DO book on our recommended Northside near Hull Bay it will be much easier to coordinate and ensure you have transportation. Details will be available closer to the date.

Question

Do we really need a car for our visit to the Island?

Answer

Renting a car is highly recommended. There is plenty of free parking at the wedding venue. However, if you do not, you will still be able to get around using Taxis. The island does not have Uber and Lyft.

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will both be held at The Hideaway Hullbay on the Northside of St. Thomas, USVI. This a 2-acre tropical estate with a beautiful atmosphere and right on the beach/oceanfront.

Question

What is the dress code? What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Island Cocktail Attire. Wear cocktail dresses and Maxi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and a suit or sports coat and slacks. Please no jeans or shorts.

Question

What weather should I expect?

Answer

Of course, we can’t guarantee anything, but there is plenty of sunshine and warm weather in St. Thomas. It is quite warm in November with an average monthly high of 87 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 31 Celsius. The average low temperature, which takes place mainly at night, is about 75 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius. Keep an eye on the weather in the weeks leading up to the wedding. While we are EXTREMELY hopeful, November is the tail end of hurricane season and there is still the possibility of rain.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be a combination of both a covered pavilion and an open lawn. Should rain be in the forecast we will be tenting the lawn. We are praying for an evening under the palm trees and stars!

Question

What should I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple and the couple will be taking pictures on the beach and the property for around an hour. Guests can walk to the cocktail hour across the lawn where snacks and drinks will be flowing. Dinner will be served around 6 pm, with dancing to follow.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Since we have limited capacity and large extended families, we’ve chosen to limit our guest list to exclude kids.

Question

Can I bring my partner?

Answer

We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Question

Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Please refer the the "Travel" page on our website. We provided numerous recommendations as well as details on the area of the island you should consider booking for convenience to the venue. The whole island is beautiful and not too far from the venue, it's a matter of do you want to be 3 min away or 30 min away. We are happy to help guide you if you have questions!

Question

I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you?

Answer

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary needs.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We’ll bring the beer and wine, you bring the party!

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to post pictures using our wedding hashtag #ItllAlwaysBJosie so we can see them, too!

Question

I have a question that I just can’t find the answer to, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

Please reach out to our wedding planner, Janelle Scott at Island Bliss Weddings with additional questions. Her email address is islandblissweddings@gmail.com.
