We met through one of my best friends, Ashley Llewellyn, in late middle school years (7th grade, year 2008-2009). Chris and I quickly became friends, and grew closer with the passing years.
Chris knew how much I loved pizza, so for our first date, he brought me to PizzaHut, where we shared a delicious pizza, laughs, and begin the journey of our adventures together (March 2013).
On a warm July Friday night, during the first night of our camping weekend for my family's yearly reunion, Chris and my dad stepped away for awhile. Chris returned once the sun was setting, being replaced by hundreds of stars up in the sky. He asked me to accompany him for a walk, and, hand in hand, he lead me away from my family and eventually toward the campground's beach. Looking forward, I saw a blanket surrounded by dozens of candles, and his Star Wars speaker on the blanket. We sat on the blanket, and I took in the sight of the candles, each little flame flickering in the night; the stars shining brightly above us; and the love in Chris's eyes. He pulled out his phone, to play some music on his speaker. "Easy to Love You" by Theory of a Deadman started to play, and after setting aside his phone, Chris held my hands in his, and began to talk about the two and a half years we'd been together, the many memories we had created, the hardships of maintaining a long-distance relationship while he was living in Ohio for school, and that, because of all that, he has never been happier. He then reached into his pocket, and as the following lyrics played: "Hard to forget all the moments When we'd be sitting there hoping it would never end 'Cause this is meant to be Baby, will you marry me?" Chris pulled out a ring box, revealing a beautiful engagement ring, asking if I would marry him. Joy and love in my heart, I eagerly said yes. He slid the ring on my finger, we shared a kiss, and enjoyed the sight of the stars for awhile, before packing up the candles and heading back to our campsite to share the news with my family. Later on I learned that Chris had asked my father's permission, and asked both my mom and father to help determine my ring size.
After we were both graduated from college, Chris bought a condo, and asked me to move in with him. Shortly after, we started our family, adopting a little kitten from his Uncle. A long haired male Siamese-Himalayan mix, named Diesel. A year and a half later, we also adopted a feisty red-orange female tabby, named Turbo.
After starting to date for nearly 8 years, and having been engaged for 5 years, Chris and I decided we wanted to have a small, destination wedding with close family and some friends.
