Because the limitations have once again changed, we will now be limited our May 23rd wedding to family only. Because we will celebrate in a rather remote location, we will not be live streaming the ceremony. We trust our photographer to take excellent pictures which we will look forward to posting, and a video will posted later on our social media page. Although we are saddened to not have the opportunity to step into the next phase of our lives in the presence of all of our loved ones, we are filled with gratefulness and joy for the beautiful impact you have had in both of us, as well as hope for Christ's purpose for our wedding day and our life together. Again, THANK YOU for loving us and walking with us so well. We would not be who we are without you! Although we will not be able to celebrate together, we would welcome your help as we set up a household and begin our lives together, and we would LOVE to hear from you as well!! You may send gifts and notes to 634 Nottingham Rd., Lawrence, KS, 66049. Thank you for your patience and support as we have made this difficult decision. We love you all!
Alli's mom calls our relationship an "uncommon miracle". Yet here we are, and the Lord continually exceeds our expectations while giving us more than we could ask or imagine. When 2019 began, neither of us saw a relationship on the horizon. Chris was on the path to go overseas for a few years, and planning to leave in August. Alli was committed to her education and planning to also move overseas in 2020 after graduation. However, it was these plans to pursue our calling to live overseas independently that brought us together. CONNECTING Although we didn't know each other at the beginning of the year, we had some mutual friends that told us that we should meet because of our similarities and desire to serve the nations. We were both planning to attend a meeting in Wichita in January for young adults planning to live overseas, and secretly planned to "connect" with each other there. We connected. That led to a genuine friendship with an uncertain future. When Chris' path to go overseas was indefinitely delayed in late March, it seemed as though God had made a way for a relationship to form. It formed. DATING A few months later, Alli traveled overseas for the first part of the summer, and we endured not being able to communicate for six weeks. Upon returning, our relationship became more serious. We navigated whether or not we should merge our lives and become a team, saw the flaws in each other, and grew together through barriers, until realizing that a genuine love had emerged as well as a desire to form an imperfect team for the renown of Jesus in the world. FUTURE In December, we voiced our commitment by giving each other rings and celebrating with our communities in Wichita and Lawrence. We plan to travel on the West Coast after the wedding and then move to Lawrence. We hope to invite into our lives as a married couple and so value your support! Pray for us as we prepare to merge our lives into one.
