Flight
Depending on where you stay within the city, each airport has its benefits: LGA is the best for domestic flights, but gets jammed with traffic. EWR is best if staying in Lower Manhattan/ Staten Island, but is not ideal for anywhere else. JFK is the farthest away from Manhattan, but may have better flight prices depending on where you are coming from.

Feel free to search out other hotels/accommodations - NYC is a big place! If you're planning on staying extra days to explore the city, it may make more sense to stay in Manhattan.
Rental Car
If staying in Staten Island, renting a car is recommended. In general, driving in Manhattan is not recommended due to tolls, traffic, & parking constraints. Public transportation & cabs / ride-shares are the best ways to get around the city. Citymapper is a great free app to use for getting around NYC!
