We met at a bar called Playwright in South Boston. It was 'Country Sunday' and a singer/band that we love was performing that night. We hit it off almost immediately but didn't exchange numbers at the end of the night. We went separate ways but we both secretly hoped we would see each other again. Time went on and we kept running into each other around Southie. We saw each other at the grocery store, running along the beach, at Playwright (again) and finally....when I was walking home from work, Chris saw me as he was driving by. He yelled out the window, pulled over, we (finally) exchanged numbers and he asked me to 'join him for dinner'. We went on our first date about a week later and have been together ever since!
In case anyone doesn't know, Alecia loves to see the sunrise and sunset. When we are at our house in Dennis she specifically wants to see the sunrise at West Dennis Beach and the Sunset at Chapin Beach. Once I was ready to propose I already knew it was going to be a beach proposal. I bought the ring and had one last thing to do before proposing - ask Eddie. I waited for a good time to ask (it's very hard to surprise Alecia) and Eddie said yes. SO this meant I had very little time before he told everyone that I had asked for his permission. I had the plan all set up: dinner at Chapin, some champagne, and a perfect sunset. When the weather looked amazing, I decided to make it happen. Alecia got home from work and I already had a cooler and chairs packed in the car. I placed the ring inside the cooler, on top of the food and hoped she wouldn't see it. Once we found the perfect spot on the beach, we sat down and stared out in the ocean. Alecia was hungry so she opened the cooler and saw the box. She kept asking, "What is this?!" and I just said, "open it". Alecia was completely speechless. I asked her to marry me and she said yes!!!!!! I was finally able to surprise her.
