Chris and Abby met briefly in middle school when Abby moved school districts. Abby’s only real memory of Chris at this time is of him regularly wearing a gold sequined blazer. Years later, they took Gary Smith’s AP English class. Chris claims this is where he first noticed Abby- wearing flannel shirts and combat boots while spouting overly intelligent insights to their assigned readings. Though Abby thinks he is exaggerating, she will admit he is correct on her wardrobe. Several months later, Chris and Abby hit it off during the class trip to Washington, DC. Many more months later, Chris and Abby both attended the Watch the Throne tour in Pittsburgh, serendipitously realizing their seats were right next to each other. Many, many, so very many months later, Chris finally asked Abby to officially be his girlfriend.
Chris and Abby endured four years of excruciating long distance as Chris went to college in Orlando, Florida and Abby stayed in Pittsburgh, PA to attend nursing school. Upon graduation, they both moved to Nashville to start their life together. Here they learned not only how to be functioning adults, but made many life long friends and grew together in their relationship. After three years in Nashville, Chris and Abby took the leap and moved to New York City. Again, their relationship grew as they learned how to navigate a new (and very scary) city together. Abby admits that in their early NYC days, she very heavily leaned on Chris, and now loves the city for all of its good and bad.
After 8 years together, Chris asked Abby to marry him during golden hour in Monet’s Garden in the beautiful countryside of Giverny, France. They were the only two people in the garden, making the moment that more intimate and special. The proposal was everything Abby could have asked for and more, despite Chris opening the ring box upside down.
We finally tied the knot in our beloved NYC on April 16, 2022 among our family and friends. The weather was perfect, the venue was gorgeous and the music was pumping all night! Everything went to plan and we couldn’t have been happier with how our wedding weekend turned out.
