Technically speaking, Chris & Carolyn met at the ripe young age of eight years old at summer day-camp. Oh, to be a fly on the wall back then. But their story really began when they were introduced at church and started to form a friendship their sophomore year of high school. They were a part of a tight-knit group of friends and over the years, their friendship continued to grow. And the more they got to know each other, the more their friendship turned into something more. Shortly after graduating, on a starry summer night, they confessed their feelings for each other! But the conversation ended in a major "Now What?". Since Carolyn was about to move to Southern California and Chris to Boston, they decided to hold off making their relationship official. But after a semester full of FaceTime calls, they decided to give long-distance their best shot. And so they did for the next three and a half years! Their years of dating were filled with more FaceTime dates, many plane flights from coast to coast, teary good-byes, a few surprise visits, and savoring every moment of winter & summer breaks together. On June 12, 2020, at the height of a global pandemic, Chris & Carolyn packed a picnic and went to one of their favorite date spots in Guilford for sunset. It was there that Chris gave Carolyn a stack of letters that he had been secretly writing to her over the past four years. Her tears were already flowing before he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife! We cannot wait for June, exactly one year later, to celebrate the start of our marriage with you all!
