What is a "sealing ceremony"?
Answer
As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the bride and groom participate in a special marriage ceremony in a dedicated temple. This ceremony binds the couple not only "til death do us part," but in the afterlife, as well. The sealing ordinance creates an eternal family bond that even death cannot break. These ceremonies are sacred, and usually consist of a small and intimate group of immediate family and a few close friends. A larger, more "party-like" celebration will occur at the wedding reception.
