We have decided to postpone the reception due to restrictions regarding COVID. Our ceremony will be an intimate gathering for immediate family only. However, on the "Schedule" page, there is a link to the Zoom which will stream our ceremony. Our reception will now be held on Saturday, May 8. We hope all of you will join be able to join us to celebrate our marriage!

How We Met

(Adrian's perspective)

Despite only spending one year at Miami University of Ohio, I made some great friends that I was able to keep in touch with like Gingy. This would prove one of the best relationships from my time there, because it was at her wedding where I met Chris. During the reception, I came upon a group of people who were friends of the groom joking around and for some reason, I stayed and joined the conversation. Eventually the group dissipated and there were two of us left: Chris and me. It was a beautiful night outside and the reception location on a waterski lake provided the perfect backdrop and all of a sudden, my plans of dancing ridiculously changed. To both enjoy the evening and prevent me from ruining my dress, Chris “borrowed” a couple of chairs from the main reception area and brought them out by the shore. We spent the entire night talking and laughing from our lakeside seats. From that first night, I knew this could be something special. The story continues to become complicated and long, involving tracking down phone numbers, greyhound buses and airplanes, along with a four year long distance relationship while I earned my PhD in Mississippi. With the help and support of our understanding advisors, friends, and family, we made it work. It was not always easy, but I am so grateful we had faith in each other and our instincts until I could join him in Ohio. For some reason, he wanted to live in the same time zone before getting married.
