Jen is Lauren's little sister. Despite butting heads frequently in their younger years, their bond has grown stronger with age, mostly by ganging up on their little brother, Vincent. She loves her dog nephew, Cooper, hotcakes from The Dorstop and ice cream from Bmore Licks (all things she would never have known without Mike and Lauren).

There are friends, there are best friends, and then there are bromances. Frank is all three to Mike. They met and became friends during Mike's freshman year of college where they were both in band together, and have remained best friends even while they live across the country from each other. Frank remains the one person Lauren was worried might steal Mike's heart away from her.

Ariane Seto

Ariane and Lauren have known each other since Ariane was 4 days old. They were born in the same hospital 4 days apart and grew up down the street from each other. And since June 1991 they have been inseparable. Ariane can recall every random moment from their childhood including all the weird dances the JSLACK girls made to hit songs in the 2000s.

Matt Iannacci

Two guys from Long Island who both ended up in Pittsburgh, Mike and Matt hit it off. Starting their junior year of college, they were roommates for so many years that their friends joked about them being in a common law marriage. Lauren may say that Matt was her friend first, but Matt is on Mike's side of the wedding literally and figuratively.

Katie Kellner

Lauren and Katie have been friends since August of 1991 when Katie joined the neighborhood baby group. You could often find Lauren splashing around in Katie's backyard pool, or trying to catch up on bike to Katie during a run. Katie and Lauren both adopted dogs in 2021 and now Jackson and Cooper are just as good friends as their owners.

Brett Morgan

When Mike and Brett met in marching band in college, Lauren and Mike were already dating. Brett told Mike that he better get invited to the wedding one day, and here we are! With connections to both Mike and Lauren through Greek organizations in the Pitt Band, Brett has always been like family to them both. Mike and Brett bonded over similar tastes in music and, though they might now live at opposite ends of the AFC North, they still stay in touch every fall when they talk fantasy football.

Rachelle Haynik

Rachelle and Lauren met at Pitt both as members of the Pitt Band. Their friendship grew stronger after college during many 8 AM Pitt football tailgates as the only girls of the group who needed to organize a bunch of 20 something boys into a cohesive tailgate every week. These days you can find both Rachelle and Lauren shaking their heads in embarrassment at every bad joke their significant others make.

Jim Sutter

Mike and Jim knew each other in college, both being in marching band and in the same fraternity. However, it was after graduating that their shared passions for Pitt sports, whiskey, and jokes that only they laugh at brought them together as closer friends. Mike and Jim can now be found yelling together at football games, hanging out at a favorite brewery, or cheering for opposite teams when the Penguins and Islanders play.

Valerie Aazam

Val and Lauren met at Pitt in PT school in 2013. They quickly became close when they paired up for every lab session that first summer semester. They remained close friends after PT school once they both started their careers at UPMC. Frequent dinner dates were a must to catch up when they were no longer spending every day together through school. Val is Lauren's go to source for ortho PT advice when her dad inevitably goes too hard at the gym and hurts himself.

Sean Caulfield

Mike and Sean met Sean's freshman year, and when Sean joined the same fraternity that Mike was already in Mike fought to pick Sean as his Little. Sean hung out with Mike and Lauren in the pep band at basketball games during undergraduate and helped get Mike and Lauren acclimated when they moved to Baltimore (where Sean already lived, even if he moved away shortly after...). Sean has been one of their longest lasting friends, having known them even before they started dating.

Ruth Hallas

Ruth and Lauren met at UPMC in 2016. Ruth relentlessly harassed their boss and got Lauren the permanent PT position on the inpatient rehab unit at Montefiore. Since then they've bonded over their love for neuro PT, Psych and being loving dog moms. Although they can no longer easily walk down the hall in the hospital to chat, they still find time monthly to video chat, craft and gossip about life.

Andriy Hetman

Mike and Andriy met in grad school, where they were two of the only people that went to the extra sessions Saturday mornings for Financial Accounting. If either of them needed more sleep, they might have not met and became friends. After talking about Pitt sports, Mike invited Andriy to hang out with the rest of his and Lauren's friends for a football game, and Andriy quickly became one of Mike's best friends.
