I was celebrating my birthday with our mutual friend and Rory dropped by with his new puppy, Sophie! She was so cute and tiny and she immediately crawled up in my lap, fell asleep and I fell in love with her. As time passed we would see each other once in a while, say hello and chat. He started to look for any excuse to come see me at work. It went completely over my head! I actually thought it was a coincidence that I kept seeing him! We eventually went on a date and hit it off immediately. After what felt like a life time he asked me to officially be his and almost immediately after that he told me he loved me, not only because of my outer beauty but because of the beautiful, kind heart that came with it. At that point I was already head over heels in love with him and was ecstatic that he shared my feelings. For the first and only time I found someone that shared my love for Lord and loved me even more because of it. Over the last 4 years we have shared moments of incredible joy, and moments of heartache but it has helped us grow together and learn to support each other through it all. From the beginning we knew we wanted our relationship centered on the Lord, we have trusted in God's will for our lives and the blessings have overwhelmingly followed.
We were planning a trip with my family and some friends and Rory told me he was going to ask my Dad for permission, the day we were getting ready to leave, he did and my Dad told him "You gotta ask the boss!" (my mother). She immediately cried, said yes and that it was gutsy to ask before he'd be stuck with them all weekend! Six months later, he came home from work early in the morning. He was going through drawers in the kitchen and whispering for Sophie. After a few minutes the dog came running in the room and he comes in behind her. He kneels next to me quietly trying to get ahold of Sophie, and she takes off out of the room, so I turn over and say "what are you doing? and a little flustered he says " Good morning beautiful, I love you and always will, will you marry me?" I immediately sat up, kissed him and said yes! in all the excitement Sophie ran all around the house taking the ring on her collar with her and she did not want to get caught! Even though it didn't go exactly as he had planned, it was perfect and special to us and we got a little giggle too!
