FAQs & Safety Protocols

If you are feeling unwell and experiencing any symptoms such as fever, coughing, or sneezing (not related to allergies), please stay at home as a courtesy to other guests. Please respect that everyone has a different level of comfort with COVID and keep that in mind before you approach anyone. Ask what the other person is comfortable with before shaking hands, hugging, or being in their personal space and respond accordingly.

Question

Can we take pictures?

Answer

In short, yes of course. But please wait to take pictures during the cocktail reception, dinner, and dancing. We're asking people not to take photos with their phones during the ceremony so it doesn't ruin our professional photography. Thank you for understanding and complying.

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

As a courtesy to all other guests we are asking everyone to please wear their masks unless they are eating or drinking. There will be additional masks available on-site if you forget yours. During the ceremony and formal family pictures taken by the wedding photographer the wedding party can take masks off. Throughout the wedding while the photographer is taking photos it will be up to your discretion whether you feel comfortable taking your mask off or not. It is your responsibility to self-manage your distance from others based on your level of comfort.

Question

How many people will be at the wedding?

Answer

All wedding events will be held entirely outdoors - the property is 17 acres with plenty of room for people to safely social distance. The capacity is 900 people normally and we will have less than 20% of that. We're anticipating between 115-120 people.

Question

What precautions are being taken during arrival and the ceremony?

Answer

The full event will now be held outdoors and not have any indoors component. Upon arrival all guests will have their temperature taken, and if they have a reading of 100 degrees or higher we will have a plan in place with the appropriate measures. Masks and hand sanitizers will be available for individual use and given as wedding favors in addition to hand sanitizer stations placed throughout event. Ceremony seating will be socially distanced and we ask all guests try to maintain a distance of at least 6' between themselves and other parties. It is up to each individual to self-manage the distance between themselves and others based on their level of comfort.

Question

What precautions are being taken during the reception and dinner?

Answer

The full event will now be held outdoors and not have any indoors component. Kona Ice will serve snowcones during the reception using disposable containers. All beverages will be served from the bar or beverage station by a masked and gloved attendant to reduce guest contamination. Seating will be based on one household per table if possible, and if not all chairs will be reduced to no more than 6 per table providing additional space between people. There will be a seating chart to indicate where everyone will be seated. One table will be released at a time to get food to avoid a build up of a line. Food will be served via stations by masked and gloved attendants. You will point to your selections and receive your full plate at the end. Disposable silverware will be available at each place setting. It is up to each individual to self-manage the distance between themselves and others based on their level of comfort.

Question

What precautions are being taken during the dancing and send-off?

Answer

The full event will now be held outdoors and allow for plenty of space for social distancing. We ask that everyone wear masks unless they are eating or drinking or if they cannot safely maintain a 6' distance from other guests. The send-off will take place along the driveway beside the Pavilion and Love Shack. There will be ample space to socially distance while we walk through and say our goodbyes at the end of the night. It is up to each individual to self-manage the distance between themselves and others based on their level of comfort.

Question

Are there still hotel blocks?

Answer

Yes, the two hotels have adjusted our group blocks to the new dates and span Thursday, September 10th through Sunday, September 13th. Find all updated hotel information on the "Travel" tab. When we contractually made our group blocks the rate was higher due to pre-COVID circumstances, and we recommend re-booking or booking directly outside of the group block for a lower rate at those same properties or another hotel of your choice.

Question

Is the wedding postponed with all the COVID-19 concerns?

Answer

It was an incredibly difficult decision, but yes we have decided to postpone the wedding. The health and safety of our family and friends is what's most important to us and we wouldn't want to put any of you at risk. We want to ensure our wedding is on a day where all of our loved ones are able to share our special day with us without any worry. The newly confirmed date is Friday, September 11, 2020. While not an ideal date it was the only feasible choice remaining at our venue in 2020. We appreciate your understanding and hope you'll be able to join us on the new date.

Question

What should I do about flights?

Answer

If you have already booked your flights, please work with the airlines to cancel the original dates and re-book for the new wedding weekend. Most, if not all, airlines during this time are allowing cancellations and people to book new dates with waived change fees. I recommend strongly pushing for waived change fees if they aren't offering it already. The only cost you should incur is any difference in airfare from the original dates you booked to the new dates in September. The wedding will still be in the evening on Friday, September 11th so you can fly in that morning or day if you're able; otherwise you'll need to fly in Thursday night. We will have informal activities planned for Saturday, September 12th and you are welcome to join those. I would recommend changing your hotel and flights to arrive Thursday, September 10th (if you're attending the rehearsal dinner by invite only, or cannot travel on Friday) or Friday, September 11th departing Sunday, September 13.

Question

How will we receive future updates?

Answer

You can always reference this website for updated information regarding the wedding. We are also trying to post all announcements and requests for information in the Facebook page private to our wedding guests. If you haven't been invited to that page please call or text Kelly at 512-635-9101 or William at 254-423-0343 to be included.

Question

Will there be a rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Yes, now that the wedding has been postponed to Friday, September 11th we will have a wedding rehearsal followed by dinner on Thursday, September 10th. The wedding rehearsal and dinner will be by invite only and reserved for the wedding party and immediate family. The wedding rehearsal will be held at the wedding venue.
