What’s the plan for the Welcome Party?

We’re kicking off the weekend with a casual Welcome Party on Folly Beach! Starting around 4:00 PM, we’ll be doing a laid-back “Folly Beach Shuffle” — hopping between a few favorite bars, mingling with friends and family along the way. We’ll start at Chico Feo, then make our way to Pier 101 on the pier for sunset views over the ocean, and end the night at Bounty Bar for drinks and late-night fun. Everything’s within easy walking distance! It’s a come-and-go gathering, so feel free to join whenever you’d like, hop in at any stop, or just meet us later. This is not a hosted event — just a relaxed way for everyone to hang out and kick off the weekend. We’d love to see you there!

Where will the ceremony be held?

Get ready to set sail with us! Both the ceremony and reception will take place aboard a beautiful yacht, ensuring an unforgettable experience on the water. The yacht is docked at St. John’s Yacht Harbor – 2408 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island, SC 29455. When you arrive at the marina, follow the signs to the docks – we’ll have signage to help guide you straight to the Carolina Girl. We can’t wait to celebrate this special moment with you!

Will there be transportation provided to the venue?

Answer

Yes! We've arranged two buses to transport guests from the hotel where we've created a room block to the marina for the ceremony and reception. Buses will depart from the Courtyard Charleston Waterfront, ensuring a smooth and convenient arrival. For guests not taking the scheduled transportation, we strongly recommend using a ride-sharing service. Please be sure to schedule your ride in advance to ensure you arrive at the marina before boarding begins at 5:45 PM—the boat will not delay departure for late arrivals. Parking at the venue is prohibited, so ride share is the best option if you're coming on your own. At the end of the night, the same two buses will be available to take guests to the after-party. Guests who prefer to skip the after-party can stay on the bus, which will continue to the hotel for final drop-off.

Can you provide guidance on footwear?

We're delighted you're joining us for our celebration on the yacht! For safety reasons on the docks and yacht, the venue does not permit pointy heels. However, there are plenty of stylish alternatives such as wedges, block heels, or flats that are both chic and suitable for the occasion. We want everyone to feel comfortable and secure while enjoying the festivities. Thank you for understanding!

Our celebration aboard the yacht will span a total of 4 hours, encompassing both the ceremony and reception. For the final hour, the yacht will be dockside. This allows flexibility for guests who may need to depart early while still ensuring they can be part of the main festivities. Thank you for being a part of our special day!

Is there a dress code?

Semi-formal and polished, suitable options include knee-length or midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, tailored suits, or jackets with slacks. Avoid overly casual clothing like jeans or sneakers, and opt for dress shoes or flats instead of pointy heels, as stilettos are not permitted on the yacht.

How do I RSVP? When is the deadline?

Click “RSVP” in the navigation menu at the top. Enter your first and last name, and make sure you enter it the same way that it appears on your invitation - the name you enter must match how the couple entered your name in their guest list. If you're RSVPing for you and a guest (or your family), you'll be able to RSVP for the entire group by entering only your first and last name. Kindly RSVP by March 1st.

We've arranged a room block at The Courtyard Charleston Waterfront, offering a prime location along the downtown waterfront for easy access to the city's attractions. While we adore children, we've made the decision to keep our wedding an adults-only affair, especially since it will be onboard a boat. This choice allows us to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all our guests, taking into consideration the unique setting and safety concerns aboard the vessel.
