the scoop

We’ve put together answers to the questions we’ve heard most often to help make your trip to Cancun smooth, simple and enjoyable. If there’s anything else you’re still wondering about, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either (or both) of us directly!
Question

When should we arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least one day before the wedding to ensure you’re settled and ready to enjoy all the festivities. If you’re planning to attend the welcome party, please plan accordingly.

Question

Do I need a passport to attend the wedding in Cancun?

Answer

Yes, you will need a valid passport to enter Mexico. Make sure it’s up to date and valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to our limited venue capacity, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate plus one’s unless specifically noted on your invitation.

Question

How can I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP directly on our website! Just head to the RSVP tab in the menu, enter your name as it appears on your invitation, and follow the prompts to let us know whether or not you’ll be joining us. We’d really appreciate your response by Saturday August 15 - if we don’t hear from you by then, we will assume you won’t be able to attend (and will miss you!).

Question

Am I required to stay at SLS?

Answer

While you’re not required to stay at SLS, all of our wedding events will be hosted there. In order to attend wedding weekend festivities, guests will need to be staying on property. We’ve reserved a room block with discounted rates - please visit the travel page for booking details.

Question

What is the weather like in Cancun in October?

Answer

October is a great time to visit Cancun! Expect warm, tropical temperatures ranging from the low 70s in the evening to the mid 80s during the day. Be sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses and your favorite poolside looks!

Question

Is Cancun safe?

Answer

Yes, Cancun is a very safe destination for travelers. It’s a popular tourist location with a strong focus on security and hospitality. We recommend you use the same common sense you would in any travel destination, and for peace of mind, we suggest sticking to well-known areas. We want you to feel relaxed and safe as you enjoy this beautiful part of Mexico!

Question

Do y’all have a gift registry?

Answer

We’re just thrilled you’re joining us in Cancun. Seriously - your presence is the gift. If you’d still like to contribute to our future together, you can find more details on the registry page.
