When Tory and Chloe met in elementary school, they were instantly friendly. As they grew up together, they became closer and closer. Secretly, Tory wanted to be more than friends. Chloe, as per usual, was clueless. After yet another heartbreak from another dumb boy, Taylor, Tory's sister and one of Chloe's best friends, gently suggested that she should come to the river that weekend with her family and spent the whole week leading up to it hyping up her brother. One thing led to another, and after a lot of long conversations, and interrogations from Tory's cousin, Katie, Chloe and Tory left that trip as a lot more than friends.
After almost 8 years of dating and 2 years of living together, Tory knew there was nobody else he'd rather be with for the rest of his life. He went and bought a ring, with a little help from Chloe and her best friend, Paulina. On November 30, 2018, Tory and Chloe along with their best friend and roommate at the time, Josh, headed off to their annual Festival of Lights trip in downtown Riverside. As they were walking around the antique store looking for their annual Christmas ornament, Chloe and Tory's other friends, Steven, Kate, Emilio, and Ariel, showed up. Chloe immediately knew something was up. As they walked up and down the festival, Tory became more and more nervous trying to find a good spot that wasn't crowded because he knew that Chloe hated the attention. Finally, he found a great little corner where a gate had been left open to a small courtyard. He got down on one knee, and in the presence of all of their friends, asked her if she wanted to spend forever with him too. She said yes. Later that weekend, their friends, Ariel and Emilio, would give birth to their first child and Chloe and Tory's first nephew, Oliver. It was definitely the most wonderful weekend to remember.
