We worked next door to each other, He worked at Dominoes, I worked at 2knucklesports. I had my eye on him for a while and I finally gave him my number, he texted me in about 10 minuets of receiving it. We talk for a few days and he asked me out, out first date was at Oregano's, We talked for hours. We went on a second date to coffee and that sealed the deal. Very early in us dating, I left to the Philippines, Ruben decided, outside of my parents, he was going to meet my whole family without me there. Of course they loved him, but they gave him a run for his money. We went to Texas together to meet his family and I knew I was instantly apart of it. Not long after, Ruben moved into our home and we've been growing in love since. We've talked a lot about marriage and what out future is going to look like, Somewhere in the middle he's asked my dad for permission to marry me. On February 23, 2026, on our 1 year anniversary, Ruben took to a gorgeous date in the mountains, he gave me two gifts, His first gift was a notebook, he's been writing to me since the day we started dating. Second, he gave a promise ring, he knew I wasn't a promise ring girl, and he told me "I want you to wear this until I gave something to replace it." We went out on the terrace and my family was secretly waiting to me, along with my best friend. I turned out and Ruben was proposing, "I already have the replacement, will you marry me?"
