We want everyone to know the precautions our venue is taking due to the recent pandemic. All staff will be wearing masks. We will also provide masks for any guests who would like to wear one. We will be providing bracelets for the reception which you can wear if you wish. Yellow (Ok with talking not touching) Red (I'm keeping my distance) or no bracelet (Bring on the hugs!) Tables & ceremony chairs will be spaced out as much as possible. If you are not comfortable sitting you are more than welcome to stand wherever you are comfortable during the outdoor ceremony. There will be hand sanitizing stations all around the venue as well as on every dinner table. Dinner is plated, & salads will be pre-dressed instead of passing dressings around at table, dessert will also be served. The venue has plenty of space for people to distance themselves from others, (2 different bar areas on opposite sides of the venue will be open during cocktail hour) and there is also an outdoor deck. We hope to celebrate with each and every one of you. We respect & understand various comfort levels due to the current circumstances.
At the time, we just had our only fur child Bentley. We centered our lives around him. We were "those people" that said, "Oh we're going to stay home we don't want to leave Bentley" or "Can Bentley come?" or "We gotta head home early and let the dog out" well I guess we are still those people today but with two dogs now. Joe kept telling me the earliest he would propose would be in 2019. He does like to mess with me a lot, so I thought if he was trying to throw me off at all it would have happened on Christmas of 2018. We had a birthday party to go to about two weeks before Christmas. When we got home from the party he talked about going over to our friends Liz and Kyle's house but we had to stop home first. When we got home he raced upstairs for a minute and I just remember I kept bugging him, yelling up the stairs, "Well are we going or not? What's the plan?" He also has this thing called selective hearing so when he wouldn't answer me I thought nothing of it. Joe then came back downstairs and blind folded me...with a SOCK (a clean one) and made me wait in the bathroom. At this point I knew he had something up his sleeve. I heard a dog collar jingling, and Bentley never wears his in the house so my first thought was he got us a new puppy. When he told me to come out and follow his voice, there was Christmas music playing (my favorite), and then told me to take off the blindfold. Joe was on one knee with the most beautiful ring and Bentley sitting next to him wearing a sign that said "Mom, will you marry my Dad?" My heart melted to say the least. Having Bentley be a part of the best day of my life was the best way Joe could have possibly proposed and I couldn’t be more excited to spend our lives together!
