Chloe and I met during a spring break cruise during our time at UCF. After the cruise, we quickly began seeing each other as much as possible. After a couple months together, our friend Ricky officially announced us as a couple. The next four years of our lives flew by as I started graduate school and worked full time while Chloe started her career. All the while Chloe was waiting for me to propose (she wasn’t quiet about it either), I continually told her to wait until after I finished school. On the day of my final exam in graduate school, I decided there wouldn’t be a more perfect time to start the rest of my life. After my exam, I drove an hour to her parent’s house to ask for their blessing and get her grandmother’s ring. Chloe always wanted her grandmother’s ring. After meeting with her parents, I drove back to our house and waited for her to get home. Once Chloe got home, we began talking about our day. She was asking, “How my exam went” and “how my day was.” Finally she jokingly said, “Do you have any homework tonight.” I responded by telling her, “I do have one last thing to do.” At that moment I got down on one knee and proposed to her. She initially thought I was joking because we always fake proposed to one another. She realized that this was for real when she saw her grandmother’s ring. Tears immediately filled her eyes and she said “Yes!” She spent the next 3 days crying (happy tears) and still continues to tear up when she tells the story.
