Located about 20 minutes from Longmont, Boulder offers a number of activities year round. We'd recommend visiting Pearl Street for restaurants and shops. Oskar Blues and Upslope are popular brew pubs, but there are many available to check out! Luciles has bomb creole brunch and is overall really adorable. Hiking is plentiful in this area with trails ranging from easier to more difficult. We recommend checking out Mt Sanitas, Shanahan Ridge, or any of the trails involving the flat irons. AllTrails has a number of hiking trails listed as well.
Denver has pretty much anything you want to do when it comes to city life. Larimer Square has a number of restaurants with beautiful outdoor lighting at night. Green Russel is a cool speakeasy type bar in this area, though a bit pricey. For authentic Mexican, I recommend La Abeja. Fire on the Mountain has amazing wings and is where we had our first date! Bacon Social House and Sassafras have the best brunches. I love Bacon Social House for their chicken and waffles and Sassafras (the one on 32nd ave is better) for their creole breakfast and Bloody Mary menu. One Fold has great breakfast as well and we strongly recommend the Vietnamese coffee and bacon fried rice. Great Divide is a Denver staple for breweries, but there are quite a few to choose from! City Park or Washington Part are fun for an easy stroll. The Botanical Gardens and Zoo are always a good time as well. On the east side of Denver, St Marks is one of our favorite coffee shops.
Just past Golden you can reach Morrison, CO which is home of the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. We've gone to many shows here on weekends, but it's also open during the day for outdoor workouts and hiking. Definitely worth checking out! For hiking, we've also liked the Mountain Lion Loop trail and Chavez and Beaver Brook trail. Golden has a low-key family restaurant with bomb wings and a good beer menu - Woody's Wood Fired Pizza.
We haven't spent much time in Longmont, but we can't wait to explore it while we're in town! Left Hand Brewing is great though and they do have a Lucile's (one of my favorite brunch spots) if the one in Boulder is too crowded.
This is a well traveled area for hiking about 1 hour from Longmont and for good reason! It is beautiful and well maintained throughout the year for tourists. Some areas may be closed due to the recent fires, so check on trails before heading over.
