It's true... we met on the internet! After moving back home from Hawaii, I had a new outlook on life! I was juggling college, a new career, and a dismal social life. Jimmy was busy playing soccer for Colorado Rush and coaching a couple of youth teams for the Colorado Rapids. Neither of us had much time for meeting new people. We both ended up on Bumble and I'm so glad we did! It must have been the dreadlocks that got my attention because I messaged him first. We chatted for a few months, but due to our busy schedules, we couldn't find the time to officially meet. Then, on September 11th 2016, I got an invitation to watch a Miami Dolphins game with Jimmy at The Sportsbook Bar and Grill. The very next day, Jimmy asked me to meet him at Top Golf where I met his brother Kevin. Since that day, we've been inseparable!
After the birth of our son Rooney at the end of June 2017, we needed a vacation! We booked a trip to Jensen Beach, Florida (Jimmy's hometown) for some R&R. The day we arrived, we met Pablo (Brian) at Luna's for lunch. After lunch, we planned to take a walk along the beach next to a museum called The House of Refuge between the ocean and the river. We walked along the shore line and I kept stopping to pick up trash that had washed ashore. Jimmy was growing increasingly displeased with my collection and continued to urge me to leave it behind. I refused, and continued my one-woman beach cleanup. As we got closer and closer to the lighthouse, Jimmy was pleading with every excuse to get me to put the trash down. Finally, he said "Put it down for a second so we can take a selfie." I agreed, and he walked me over to an open spot near the water. He got down on one knee, with our baby in-between us, and popped the question! Little did I know, Pablo was hiding in the tall grass taking our photos!! I guess Jimmy didn't want a barnacle covered shoe or plastic spoon in our engagement photos :) He proposed with my great-grandmother's ring, and of course I said YES!
