The Beginning to Forever

Garrett and I met doing something we both grew up doing and enjoy greatly, playing soccer. I was on one Dam Neck base team and he was on another; our teams had played before but neither one of us said something to one another( even though he said he had seen me before at the gym on Oceana, where I work, but never decided to say anything there or after seeing me on the field). The season was closing out in about a week and both our teams were set to play against one another in the finals. In that last week we had to play each other and in the last minutes of the half Garrett's team had a corner kick and for some reason my team told me the shortest person on the team to mark the tallest person on the field. Since my team was winning I felt the need to make a smart remark and say "I got daddy long legs" as he came running over to me, and this was what started it all. After the game I was taking my teammates to my car and went home to find a Facebook friend request from some random person with no mutual friends, so of course I just ignored it and went on my day. The next day I got a message from the random person saying "call me daddy but don't offer to buy me coffee, seems a bit rude" then it clicked that he was the one I called daddy long legs. We made a bet that if my team won that I would have to take him out to dinner and vice versa. We played each other and with the cheating refs they ended up winning and I owed him his dinner. We planned to meet for tacos and I ended up blowing him off 30 minutes before we were supposed to meet. Later that week when I got off work I made him tell me where he lived and invited myself over so that I could finally just hang out with him and from that night on the rest is history.

For all the days along the way
