We spent our whole lives growing up in the same small town of Aurora, Indiana — running around with mutual friends, going to rival high schools, visiting the same shops and restaurants — yet somehow, we never crossed paths. Mysteriously, we lived less than two minutes apart and still never saw each other. Then came the summer of 2024. I was out with some friends at a bar, and later that night, I added Chance back on Snapchat (ah, the lovely modern romance, right? lol). I sent him just a blank picture, not expecting anything in return. The next morning, I woke up to a reply, and we started chatting. Within that same week, we had a date planned — an ice cream date at the dog park with his dog, Boen. I remember calling my mom, telling her I didn’t want to go because I was scared of falling in love just to get hurt. But I put my big girl pants on and went — and God, I am so happy I did. A week after our first date, we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. We both knew right away that we were each other’s missing piece. Less than a year later, on May 11, 2025, Chance got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
