My first day of work at the Rockford Meijer was the day Alex found the love of his life. It took me a little bit longer to realize I was talking to the love of my life, but I eventually did. August 2019- This was our first date. We went out to breakfast at Lucy's cafe. (Neither of us would say it was our first date (Alex explicitly told me we were NOT on a date) at the time but we both knew in those moments our growing feelings for each other.) September 2020- After almost a year of focusing on work and trying to move past our infatuation for each other, we couldn't! We met each others families, went golfing for the first time together (very important first for Alex as he realized my novice golfing abilities!), and spent every Friday together. 2020-2022- We travel, hike, walk our dogs, kayak, play board games, spend time with family, transition jobs, and eat A LOT of ice cream. April 1, 2022- I plan to spend the evening helping my sister prepare for her wedding at my dad's house. When we arrived at my Dads house, there was a sign in the driveway with a note attached asking me to meet Alex in the backyard. When I walked to the back, Alex was waiting at the base of the trail lined with flowers, candles, and pictures of us. At the end of the trail was a string lit circle where Alex got down on one knee and asked me to Marry him! We were met with cheers from family as we walked back toward the house. We are so excited to get married and can't wait to celebrate with you!
