Aidan and Chloe met at Cedar Ridge High School, where Aidan was a year ahead. They ran in different circles, but both admit to stealing glances at each other during band class—he was first chair clarinet, and she was first chair flute. Years later, they reconnected on social media after both landed in Charlotte. Their first date was at the ever-magical Waffle House in 2020, and they haven’t stopped dating since!

Aidan proposed during one of their regular visits to Chloe’s grandmother, who lives on Lake Norman—a place that’s become special to them both. Aidan, who has a deep love for planes and flying, had recently received a pair of nice binoculars from Chloe for his birthday to enhance his plane-watching hobby. That afternoon, he called Chloe out to the porch overlooking the lake, saying there was a plane she had to see. She held up the binoculars and, after a bit of searching, finally spotted a Spirit Airlines jet soaring overhead. When she lowered the binoculars, Aidan was down on one knee! Chloe said yes, and they went inside to tell Chloe’s grandmother the news, called family, and celebrated with a wonderful meal overlooking the lake. It was a truly perfect day.

These days, Chloe is pursuing her master’s in social work with a focus on supporting survivors of trauma, while Aidan works remotely as a growth marketing manager at a tech startup. They live in the Fourth Ward of Uptown Charlotte with their three beloved cats and a pair of electric scooters they zip around the city on. When they’re not exploring new restaurants or cooking at home, you’ll find them taking spontaneous day trips to the mountains, the beach, or visiting Chloe’s grandmother on Lake Norman—and, of course, still dating each other :)
