One of the first places we visited together, along with the Soweto Towers. A bustling neighborhood, with historical gravity. There's also a restaurant on this street with some amazing grub!
Soweto Towers
So, what happens when a nuclear power plant becomes defunct? Well, find out at the towers! You can also bungee jump, if you possess only a rudimentary self-preservation instinct -- yes, I'm looking at you, daredevil ;-)
Apartheid Museum
A museum with the history of this nation carved in every space. Highly recommended!
Lion Park
We enjoyed this tour. For the groom, mostly because he was assured the lions were fed plenty that day (whew!). And, sturdy vehicles with metal caging always helps! Highly recommended!
Lesedi Cultural Village
This is right next to the Lion Park, so you can do a two-for-one tour in a day. Beautiful artistry, as you'd expect from a spot like this.
Cradle of Humankind
Tours, boat rides, museum, spa... there's plenty to do at this spot. The website will give you the gist of it. The groom hasn't been here yet (you can bet your ass I plan on it).
Elephant Sanctuary
Toot your trunk if you love elephants! This sanctuary is in Zandfontein, 1 hour, 22 mins from Jo'burg. Plan ahead if you're interested in making the trip!
