Darryl is a long time friend of David. He is like an older brother to him. Darryl taught David how to correctly play basketball. While they didn’t go to school together, they were neighborhood boys who enjoyed playing basketball and hanging out. Darryl had even cut his hair a time or two back in the day.

Brandon is my oldest son. Brandon is the one who truly taught me about unconditional love. Our relationship has changed over time. Starting with parenting you as a child, to being there when needed as an adult. We have had some heated conversations, they always ended in love. Brandon has lost a lot but continues to start over and pushes himself to be better for himself and his children. I’m proud of you Brandon and thank you for agreeing to walk me down the aisle with your brother Jaden. We love you.

Jaden is my middle. He is always on time and will call to make sure I’m on my way or ready before leaving. Always down for anything that includes food. He was my little protector and still looking out for me today. I’m proud that Jaden is finding his way and traveling the world at the same time. I’m so happy Jaden said yes to walking me down the aisle. Remember Jaden, this is the one day you can’t poke and wrestle with me! I love you!

Cherish is my only granddaughter. Cherish is a smart, sweet and wise young girl. David and Cherish quickly bonded over Paw Patrol. Over the past few years we have enjoyed our weekend outings from Skyzone, picking strawberries and going to the Farmer’s Market. We love you.

I met Tanneka on a desperate need for Starbucks on day. I didn't have my car and Tanneka came to my rescue. A stranger somewhat but a friend indeed. Tanneka did a Starbucks run and left me with a prayer. She was so warm and friendly and left me feeling better than when she came to the door with my hot chocolate from Starbucks. It was a very pleasant surprise to find that Tanneka is an Ordained Minister and agreed to marry David and I!

Kayla with the warm sweet smile. One of Ta’miya’s longest friendships. They danced together on the Poms Squad and have been friends since. Thank you Kayla for being a good friend to Ta’miya and for agreeing to be hostess at our Wedding.

Shay is an awesome mother to my granddaughter Cherish and I see her as an additional daughter. I’ve seen how you have grown and embraced motherhood. You have been apart of our family for many years. From the moment I heard LaJuana talk to David, I could hear her love for David. They are cousin siblings and I have heard so many stories about them growing up together into adulthood.
