How we Met

The journey from being her Big Brother to her most favorite person ♥️

Chuks was just too jovial! Everyone thought he was God’s gift to mankind but I felt he liked showing himself. I never liked him. We ran into each other in the church, exchanged greetings and that was it. We became friends. That had always been his goal anyway. Our friendship was kind of weird. He was older and of course more mature and so was hard to believe that we were ‘just Friends’. He was outrightly intelligent and his smile was charming. I was comfortable confiding in him. I told him things I would rather tell no one. He became a ‘big brother’. We bonded so much and I became really fond of my ‘big brother’. And boom! He was set to leave for another continent! I was moved to tears but as a big girl that I was, I didn't drop a tear- in his presence of course. He was really going far and I couldn’t fathom how we were going to stay in touch given the distance. Our friendship was coming to an end. Too sad! He never valued our friendship! ‘Yeah! We get to reconnect!’ I screamed!, when I got a call from Chuks after he left! I was sure to have scolded him for not reaching out since he left. it was a month already. How time flies. He apologized and our friendship was set ablaze again. Funnily enough, we got even closer despite the distance, as our communication moved from weekly to biweekly, to daily to several times in a day. Now, in all these dealings, we never looked for a relationship. We just allowed love happen without we knowing it. So when Chuks asked for a step further in the relationship, I was ready for it too. I couldn’t have even said ‘No’ even if I was meant to. We were already into each other. It’s been 5years of a blissful relationship and 10years of friendship, and I can say that it has been worth the while even though most times we get to share and show affections over the seas and across the bridges of our phones! Our journey wasn’t easy but God came through and is still coming through for us. We are ever grateful to him! -The Bride-
