FAQs

The Wedding Website of Sam Childress and Eric Cain
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

When we thought about where we wanted to get married, the answer was clear to us. Where we first met. Our wedding ceremony will take under our family friend’s oak tree. 391 Marple Road, Winchester VA Parking will be available throughout the property, but carpooling is encouraged when possible.

Question

Where is the reception?

Answer

After the ceremony, we will head right next door to Eric’s childhood home for the reception.

Question

But what will I wear?

Answer

We want all of our guests to look their best while also feeling comfortable and being true to themselves. We ask that our guests arrive in dressy casual attire. For our guys, a nice button down (including white dress shirts) and your best dark wash jeans, dress pants, or khakis with dress shoes or clean boots would be perfect. Ties and jackets are optional. Our ladies can wear a their favorite dress, slacks and a blouse, a skirt with a sweater, or any other elevated outfit of their choosing. Do remember that this is an outdoor event, so we would recommend a thicker heel if wearing high heels to not sink into the grass. We have one firm rule for attire: to avoid a mental breakdown from Sam, please refrain from wearing white. Also, kindly avoid bright colors, neon, or red - trust us, our photos (and Sam’s sanity) will thank you!

Question

How do I RSVP and when is the deadline?

Answer

You can RSVP by clicking on the “RSVP” tab on this website or scanning the QR code on your invitation. It will then ask for one member of your party to enter their first and last name as it appears on the invitation. After you click “continue” it will take you to a list of names in your party, from there you may simply select “Will Attend” or “Will Not Attend.” After you hit submit you are good to go! We ask that all of our guests RSVP as soon as they are able, the deadline for RSVPs is August 1st.

Question

What if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! However, we understand our wedding is being planned quicker than most. If you cannot make it, please RSVP accordingly on the RSVP tab.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 4:30 pm. We ask that guests arrive at 4 to ensure everyone arrives with ample time before the ceremony starts.

Question

What will be on the menu for food?

Answer

After the ceremony, there will be drinks and various hors d’oeuvres for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour. For dinner, we will be serving the following: - Salad - Brisket, Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken - Macaroni & Cheese - Baked Beans - Green Beans - Coleslaw For dessert, we will have a variety of sweet treats to choose from!

Question

Can I bring my kids or a plus one?

Answer

To keep our wedding as intimate as possible, we ask that only the individuals listed on your invitation are in attendance. There will be open alcohol at our reception, so we ask all kiddos stay home to ensure all of our guests can be as present as possible and enjoy all the festivities of the reception.

Question

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place outside. However, the reception will be under a large tent to shield all guests and their food and drinks. Various indoor bathrooms can be utilized on site.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

Then we get wet! While we are hopeful for clear skies, there is always a possibility of inclement weather. As the saying goes, a wet knot is harder to untie!
