FAQs

The Wedding Website of Gene Meginnes and Samantha Harms
We know traveling for a wedding can come with a lot of questions, so we’ve gathered the most important details all in one place. If there’s anything we missed, feel free to reach out — and check back as we’ll continue updating information closer to the wedding weekend.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We plan to send out our full invitations in September. But for those who are ahead of the curve, please RSVP by Nov. 17 so we can finalize seating, meals, and weekend events.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. South Florida weather is typically beautiful (warm and likely slightly humid) this time of year, but we recommend checking the forecast closer to the wedding weekend just in case.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding attire is semi-formal. We’re envisioning an elevated, romantic garden-party feel — think cocktail dresses, midi or long dresses, dress shirts, suits, or lightweight jackets. The entire wedding weekend will take place outdoors in South Florida, so we recommend breathable fabrics and comfortable footwear. Please note that guests will be walking on gravel throughout portions of the venue, so stilettos may not be the best choice for the evening.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we absolutely adore your little ones, children are not invited. (Unless you make one of us a godparent!)

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to venue capacity and our desire to keep the celebration intimate, only guests specifically listed on the invitation will be included in the festivities.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

We are currently finalizing transportation details and will share more information closer to the wedding weekend.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We’ll be sharing hotel recommendations and room block information soon! We recommend booking accommodations early, especially for those planning to stay through the full wedding weekend.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest major airports are: - Miami International Airport - Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport We recommend the Miami airport. Additional travel details and recommendations will be shared as we get closer.

Question

Will there be other events during the weekend?

Answer

Yes! We’re planning a full wedding weekend experience with a few optional events and gatherings for guests. More details will be shared closer to the celebration.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to keep phones away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present with us. We promise to share professional photos afterward!

Question

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

Yes! Both our ceremony and reception will take place at The Historic Walton House.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes, valet parking will be available onsite for guests for free.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

We’re working with our catering team to create a menu that feels elevated, fun, and very “us.” Dietary accommodations will be collected during RSVP.

Question

I have dietary restrictions — what should I do?

Answer

Please include any allergies or dietary restrictions when you RSVP, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes — we fully intend to celebrate properly with everyone we love (and yes, for free).

Question

We heard something about a “Wedding Eras Tour”… what is that?

Answer

Following the wedding, we’ll be celebrating with groups of friends and family in a few cities that are meaningful to us, especially with those who were unable to attend the wedding weekend. Think of it as our own little post-wedding tour. Additional details for each stop will be shared closer to those weekends.

Question

Should I prepare emotionally?

Answer

Probably. We certainly are.
