How I know the groom: Pat lived on the fifteenth floor of Straz Tower, across the hall from Mickey and Blake. His famous lofted bed that hit the ceiling allowed all of us freshmen to pile in and thus his room was often the spot to hang out first year… carrying over to when he moved to an apartment the next year and the rest of us were still in the dorm. How I know the groom: I met Mickey and Chiara our first year at Marquette (#honoros). Fun fact: the first time I ever met Mickey I almost pepper sprayed him because he walked up behind me as I was walking alone back to our dorm. Apparently he’d seen me around and he just wanted to say a friendly hello and introduce himself. Lucky I was slow on the draw 😂 We’ve been BEST BUDS ever since! Love you forever! How she knows the bride: 27 years ago... my mom went to a retail store called Service Merchandise. That fateful day, Chiara's mom approached my mom and asked, "Are you Filipino?" My mom said yes. When they kept talking, they found out that we lived five minutes away... from the first play date, our friendship began. Chiara was at my very first birthday party (with my co-maid of honor, Tina)! We were constantly together: playing Nintendo DS, feeding our Neopets, reading, listening to Aly & AJ, or pretending to be groundhogs in forts when we were supposed to be napping. We've seen each other through plaid bermudas, Aeropostale hoodies, snow pants, Filipino swag shirts, homecoming dresses, thick glasses, and now she's going to be in a wedding dress! Chiara is the closest person I have to a sister. I'm grateful for her friendship every day. Congratulations to Chiara and Mickey! How she knows the bride and groom: Chiara and Julia were randomly assigned as freshmen year roommates at Marquette and as they say, the rest is history! From what started as exchanging photos over email and deciding who would bring the mini fridge has become a decade-long friendship full of too many memories to fit here (come find me at the wedding if you want the inside scoop 😉). Along the way, Mickey became our part time roommate before the two of you decided to become each other’s full time roommates. Not to brag, but I have been there from the start…I can’t wait to be up there with you both on the big day and am so unbelievably happy for you both. Here’s to many more decades of country bangerz, beach trips, semi annual trips to the Marquette Spirit Shop and the start of the rest of your lives together! How he knows the bride: 2000, Orland Park, Illinois. Enter Chiara, one of the first cousins I met in the States.
