Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Chiara Singh and Steven Baker
SANTA BARBARA OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES Getting outside is essential in Santa Barbara. The Santa Ynez Mountains offer endless opportunities to hike and bike your way to amazing scenic vistas. The golden ridgelines cascade into the Pacific where you’ll find a plethora of activities on the water, including kayaking, surfing, SUP and more, as well as incredible views of the California coastline. On any given day, you’ll find pick-up beach volleyball games, people sea kayaking from Stearns Wharf to the Harbor, boats setting sail to go whale watching, and stand-up paddleboarders sliding across the water. Santa Barbara’s climate, which boasts over 300 days of sunshine every year, is a huge draw for those looking for some outdoor adventure year-round. Here are our top favorite activities! Wheel Fun Rentals is one block away from the beach and Stearns Wharf, in the heart of the Funk Zone. Here lies the perfect starting point for rolling expeditions along our World Famous Coastal Bike Path. Follow our boardwalk through Santa Barbara, past beautiful sandy beaches, and on to the bird sanctuary.

The Funk Zone

The Funk Zone

Wine tasting in the Funk Zone is the perfect Sunday activity! Converted warehouses and buildings decorated with graffiti murals and contemporary art pieces set the tone for this hopping section of town. Surfboard shapers, winemakers and up-and-coming chefs all practice their crafts here. Visit art galleries, shop vintage and modern home goods, and experience an upswell of boutique tasting rooms, cafes, and galleries that cater to Santa Barbara’s contemporary side.

Santa Barbara Zoo

Santa Barbara Zoo

500 Ninos Drive, Santa Barbara, CA 93103

Only in Santa Barbara do the animals get a sparkling, oceanfront view! With the sea in sight, a walk through the lush grounds of the Santa Barbara Zoo offers wild encounters with 146 species of mammals, reptiles, birds and insects. More than 500 animals are exhibited in open, naturalistic habitats.
