They say timing is everything. Our story? Proof that love doesn’t always arrive on schedule-but when it shows up, it is worth the wait. We met back in high school; two kids in American Literature class, passing notes (well, maybe just glances), swapping ideas about Gatsby and Holden Caulfield, completely unaware that our real-life love story was just beginning its first chapter. Senior year rolled around, and life was already in motion. Chiagoziem was dual-enrolled at Georgia State, chasing dreams early while Sheila stayed on campus, soaking up the last of high school. Prom was on the horizon, and in a moment of courage (and charm), Chiagoziem asked Sheila to be his date. But between busy schedules, life logistics, and a bit of youthful misalignment, prom never happened for either of us. No corsage. No slow dance. Just a fleeting “what if.” We didn’t start a relationship then. We didn’t even really stay in touch. We took a single photo on graduation day(two smiles frozen in time) and went off to separate colleges, separate lives, separate paths. The story seemed to end before it began. Fast-forward four and a half years! A casual get-together by an unexpected mutual friend. A little music, a little laughter, and then — us. Reunited. Reconnected. Reignited. There was no warning, no buildup. Just one moment we were catching up, and the next, we were dancing like no one was watching. (Honestly, people probably were watching, but we were too caught up in the moment to care.) The world blurred, time paused, and for a few perfect songs, it felt like the God had set us in motion…finally, at the right time. Chiagoziem had to leave early that night ( to go study for an exam) ,but something had shifted. The spark was undeniable. From that night on, we haven’t gone a single day without talking. Not one! We made up for all the missed time, one message, one call, one shared dream at a time. From hallway glances to dance floor twirls, from “almosts” to “absolutelys” we’ve grown, we’ve laughed, we’ve loved. And now, we’re stepping into forever, hand in hand. This is our story. Still unfolding. Still magic. Still ours
