It was a regular day at work. I was still pretty new and learning people. I stayed to myself. I was walking back to my desk as he was chatting with a coworker. I politely smiled and sat down at my cubicle. Our coworker then introduces us.. I guess I made an impression. Little did he know, he did too. A few moments after he left, I get a Facebook notification. I don't think we have stopped talking since. I went home that day and told my mother I met my future husband. I was right. We went on our first date a couple of days later, and the smiles, laughs, and memories have not stopped.
I specifically told him I didn't want to be proposed to on a holiday. Christmas, Valentine's day, none of them. So, smartass Adam waited until February 15, 2021 to ask me to marry him. I was in such disbelief, I wouldn't even let him get his speech out. I was one of those who said "NO WAY" until he said "well... what's your answer?" and I said "YES, DUH, OF COURSE!" Of course, I'm crying because, (1) what?! and (2) the entire restaurant is now looking at us. I find out later that everyone else already knew he was going to pop the big question. He thoughtfully requested approval from my parents behind my back, which made me cry even more. He wrote me a heartfelt two page letter, which I cried after reading (man, I was emotional!), before he got down on one knee and proposed to me. A restaurant full of people staring at us, but all I could see was him (and the blinding ring he was holding). It's like that all of the time.
We wed at an intimate "minimony" on Tuesday, Februrary 22, 2022. We wanted that date as our anniversary, but we knew we wanted to share this event with you. Alas, we will meet on April 2, 2022 for a "sequel wedding", to share our written vows and celebrate our union with our family and friends.
