Maid of Honor
Depending on who you ask, Melissa has either been my best or worst influence since freshman year of high school. She lives in Tulsa with her fiancé Aus Lee (Chey is officiating their wedding in June in Lake Tahoe!) and will graduate as a Nurse Practitioner in December. When you need a boost to get you through the week, the day, or just the next tough exam, there is nothing quite like a motivational text from Melissa. If she hasn't already ptfo'd, look for her to get the party started at the reception.
Best Man
Best Man and best bro! My older brother and the person who I've always looked up to. Matt and I have always had a close bond, but as we've grown into adulthood, we've really become best friends. What can I say about our relationship other than the fact that he let me pay him rent one summer in the form of a four-burner gas grill when we lived together in college and didn't think twice about it. I couldn't think of anyone better to stand right by my side as I have the honor of marrying my best friend. Looking forward to many more memories bro!
Matron of Honor
My best friend since first grade. Shannon narrowly makes it into the "matron" category by getting married to Tim this September. If you see a picture of me from the early 2000's, chances are it was taken on one of Shannon's digital cameras throughout the years. She values memories like no one else I've ever met and my life has been so much better for it. From field trips to prom to bachelorette parties, Shannon has been there making it all just a little more special. Look out for Shannon on the dance floor--she is also the best spiller I know.
Groomsman
Mike befriended me on the bus home from middle school and we quickly bonded over our love of Guitar Hero. We learned so many things throughout the years, from how to properly TP a house to how to shotgun a beer. Mike always tried moving further away from me - Iowa City, Denver, Charlotte, and finally Nashville, but when we get back together, it's like nothing has changed. Life just wouldn't be the same without that high-pitched giggle that everyone knows so well. Love ya, Michael!
Bridesmaid
It's basic, I know, but Hannah and I met at sorority recruitment our first week at Drury. I'm so dang grateful this small school brought the two of us together for all the memories made and lessons learned. Hannah and her husband Trevor are two of the coolest people EVER and I will never understand how I landed the extreme privilege of being MOH at their wedding last October. I've said this before, but if 5/2/2020 is half as great as their wedding was, we'll be happy. She is currently owning the PR world at Fleishman Hillard in downtown St. Louis.
Groomsman
Cliff and I have had some great adventures over the years. He chose Delt over the Mizzou cross country team and the rest is history. Thanks for always popping open your best beers with me, teaching me about your obscure interests like mushroom hunting, getting up early in the morning for yoga together, and letting me tag along on some epic fishing adventures. Fortunately, we have many more adventures to look forward to in the future with our overlapping (close enough) wedding anniversaries. Now let's go get dumpy on the dance floor!
Bridesmaid
I met Gita when she moved to Kirksville for medical school and it was love at first sight. She has been our relationship's biggest cheerleader all along... from the early days at the Dukum Inn all the way to marriage. Coined the term Cheygan probably a little prematurely. I wouldn't be surprised if she somehow snuck her way onto our honeymoon. She is currently finishing her fourth year in Chicago and will make an incredible pediatrician soon, too.
Groomsman
We met when Smo was way too into R&B music and he could always be found blasting some Ray J or Chris Brown out the windows of his Chevy Colorado in the quiet suburbs of Cheddaville, MO. At the time, if you can believe it, we had similar tastes. These days, you'll find us blasting Luke Combs while ripping bass lips out at Innsbrook in his 10' jon boat. I have to say we've aged well, just like the fancy bottle of wine Scott will always show up with.
Bridesmaid
Just... the best. Need someone to make pasta for you to stress eat before your next big exam? Need someone to twerk for your instagram story? Need someone to deliver your baby? Victoria can do it all. And that's why we couldn't have our wedding day without her. She is in her first year of Family Medicine residency in Springfield, MO. If you let 5/2/2020 go by and didn't spend some time with Victoria, you did it wrong.
Groomsman
Birthday buddies for life! Max and I quickly bonded over our shared birthday, September 19, 1990, and got to celebrate together for the first time at the always popular Delt highlighter party. Future birthdays, unfortunately, did not fall on a Saturday like our first birthday together and we were often found huddled in the study room for first rounds of exams. Our birthdays always bring our friends together and that's something I'll always feel very lucky to celebrate!
Bridesmaid
As Matt's wife, Ashley was the first outlaw to marry into the Landis fam. I've looked up to Ashley ever since the first day we met at a seafood boil at their (super freaking adorable) house in Columbia, MO back in 2016. Ashley is the most talented home designer. No really, check out @centuryhomedesignco to have your mind blown... or at the very least to get some inspiration for your own place. I will always be grateful to Matt and Chey for giving me such a perfect sister.
Groomsman
Frankie has always been the life of the party. I can always count on that Italian charm to put a smile on my face. Although he moved to New York to create websites and found companies, he misses us midwesterners too much and occasionally makes his way back for a rowdy weekend in Cheddaville. Thanks Frank, for always buying my drinks and kissing me on the cheek like you always do...wait. I promise it's all that Italian charm and nothing else, Meg.
Bridesmaid
Speaking of talented, perfect sisters... Emily is a real deal songwriter living in Nashville. Emily and I may have only been born a few months apart, but her wisdom, genuine spirit, and--let's be honest--fashion and beauty sense are far more advanced. If you're lucky, you'll get to see her (and her boyfriend Johnny McGuire) perform at the reception!
Groomsman
My future bro! I can always count on Ted to recommend the best movies and TV shows (Nathan For You, if you haven't seen it, watch it) and to always join us for a rowdy game night. Thanks for making me waffles with whatever secret ingredient it is that you Reidy's use (cough...chocolate syrup...cough). I look forward to seeing where your sound skills and musical talents take you in the future! Feel free to share some of those musical talents with Meg any day now..
Bridesmaid
Now and forever the most knowledgeable Landis medical professional. Last but not least of the sister squad, Katie is smart, cute, funny, and has always made Megan feel like a cherished part of the family. She lives in KC with her boyfriend Justin (who also deserves a shoutout here... hi Justin, you're great!) and works as a nurse in the neuro ICU of St. Luke's hospital.
Groomsman
Roomate? John has never been the best at spelling, but he's always been a great friend. I met John while he was dancing on the bar at J.B. Ray's in South County before freshman year of college. When Hank Williams' Family Tradition ended, he hopped down, handed me a beer, and asked if I wanted to be roommates with him in the fall. Well, we all know what happened next, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to move in with such an awesome (and messy) friend.
Bridesmaid
LeighAnn is IT. Mom goals, wife goals, career goals. We became friends through high school cheerleading and math class--which is fitting now that she's a practicing actuary. She and Scott got married about 5 years ago and are parents to the two cutest little girls, Lucy and Mia. Charlie and I look up to their family so much and can't wait to settle down in Washington with them some day.
Groomsman
Chase and I have been through it all together, from pledgeship to medical school to the top of Kilimanjaro, Chase has helped me remain sane during all the years of anatomy practicals and board exams. Over the years, I've learned from Chase how to make the perfect scrambled eggs (add water, not milk), how much concentration you need to put into completing a puzzle in one night, how quickly you can finish any given Netflix series, and how important it is to share a six pack with friends after a long week.
