Question

Tell me more about The Amana Woolen Mill & Complimentary Tour

Answer

While the Wedding Party is busy preparing for the Big Event on Friday, join family & friends at 11:00am for a complimentary private wedding tour of the Amana Woolen Mill, still in production since 1855! Conveniently located on the Hotel Millwright campus. What was once an 8-acre woolen mill complex is now partially redesigned as the Millwright boutique hotel. However the Mill is still up and running in the original Weaving Building, using centuries old techniques and tools. This mill was once the industrial center of the village of Amana. Textiles were essential to Amana's beginnings. In addition to producing goods for the community's use, the Mill helped support the colonists' communal living by selling textiles across the country, gaining a national reputation for superior woolens that it still holds, 169 years later! Rich traditions of enduring quality, craftsmanship, community living, and genuine hospitality have continued within its walls all these years. Be sure to stop in the Mill shop across the walkway - "Woven & Warped" for a beautiful variety of their designs.
