What seems like ages ago, a house party was thrown where everyone at SEMO planned to attend. After some convincing from friends; we put together some last minute costumes to join the party. Last minute decision lead me to dress as the red candy peanut M&Ms and we headed out to the “Football House”. Not long after being at the party was I encouraged into assisting in a beer pong game! I never played the game before and had no clue what was going on but I somehow managed to help someone win. That certain someone was dressed up as a football player and approached me shortly after the game; introducing himself as Mike. We did the typical getting to know you introduction and made a bunch of googly eyes at each other. After eventually exchanging numbers Mike mentions “you know, peanut m&ms are my favorite candy?” *wink* walking away shortly. (Which I later found out , was to go host his own party! Ha!). I blushed thinking about my costume and went back to my friends trying not to show my smile. After that night, we've been inseparable ever since! ❤️

On Fourth of July 2022, we hosted a small family get together to kick off new beginnings in our new home in TX. A year later our backyard renovations were finally complete and we figured hosting another Fourth of July party with even more family and friends would be the perfect way to celebrate the new house add-ons! So we planned months before the party. We sent out invites, made tons of grocery runs, cleaned the house, got party supplies, and prepared for basically a big college reunion from our friends that stayed in town with us. A week full of laughter and fun events, leading up to 4th of July! The day of the party arrives and all of the guests that weren't staying at our house start to arrive. Everyone is in high spirits and buzzing around the house, the festivities start in no time! We constantly had to make quick store runs throughout the day, and being the host I didn't mind being the one to make the runs. It wasn't until coming back from the last store run, was I SURPRISED by Mike in the middle of a heart, made out of rose petals and candles, playing one of our favorite songs, on one knee, with a ring in his hand surrounded by all the people who love us! And after I say YES (duh), fireworks were popped! It was truly magical and I never felt more special! And now we're GETTING MARRIED!
