Question

Camp Rules

Answer

1) Check-in after 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20th. 2) ALL guests must sign the waiver for Arosa Ranch and follow the policies (which will be posted on-site). 3) Check-out is at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 22nd. 4) Quiet time is 11 p.m., music will be turned down by 12:30, and off by 1:30 a.m. 5) Feel free to bring snacks and food, but must be camping safe (animal safe, etc.). 6) You can bring your booze for Friday, but there will be a bar for Saturday. 7) Keep your dogs on leash, at all times. 8) Please ensure you clean up after yourselves. Pack out what you pack in.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Golf/cocktail dress attire. This is a camping venue with outdoor grassy spaces, lots of dust, and uneven terrain, so dress accordingly. Ladies, please don't feel the need to wear heels (nobody wants that, nobody enjoys that. Birkenstocks are highly encouraged).

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

No, cash or e-transfer is preferred (have you heard weddings are expensive these days?).

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, pretty much anywhere. We ask that each campsite has a maximum of 1 vehicle per site as per camp rules. All additional vehicles are to be left in the overflow parking lot.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 3:00 pm. Please arrive no later than half an hour before.

Question

Talk to me about the bar

Answer

After reception bubbly and wine during dinner will be complimentary. All other alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase through a toonie bar system ($2 CAD per drink).

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, but no, but kind of. Dinner is a very simple dish. Hot dogs! If you are vegan, gluten-free, or have any allergies, please let us know ASAP.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

As much as we love your family, we ask that you do not bring your children. However, if this is a make-it-or-break-it-on attendance, please contact us and we will see what we can do (we love your gremlins, we just have a limited amount of space available).

Question

Friday Night/Saturday Morning/Day

Answer

If you decide to arrive Friday night, please bring food/dinner/snacks for yourself. Nothing will be provided. It will be a casual, camping-like evening. Similar for Saturday morning and lunchtime, please feed yourself.

Question

Dogs

Answer

1) Fenway has been having difficulties lately with other dogs. We absolutely do not mind you bringing your dog, however, they will need to be on a leash and they must interact with Fenway from a distance (please don't allow them to come up to him full force). The last thing Chey needs is to be anxious that Fenway will bite another dog's ear off :) 2) There is spear grass everywhere...so check your dogs toes, ears, mouth, etc. 3) Check your pups for ticks!

Question

What kind of camping is this event?

Answer

This is a very rustic campsite. Camping rules apply! Please put away all food, coolers, and beverages in a car or camper each night. Bears, cows, horses, squirrels, and coyotes are present, and we have seen firsthand how close they are willing to get. As it is a rustic site, the showers are uh, very rustic, so please bring shower shoes and towels. Treat the accommodations as if you were camping without a special event. Bring headlamps to navigate to the loo in the middle of the night, never leave a fire burning unattended, etc., etc., etc.

Question

I've never been to Bridesville, what is it like?

Answer

It will be roughly 10 degrees cooler than Osoyoos. Bring warm clothing for the nights; however, it can be quite warm during the day. Layers are suggested (we love a good jean jacket over your cocktail dress)! June typically has a high of 26 and a low of 12. The venue is also near a pond and in the mountains, so bring bug spray (although some will be provided) and anticipate a few mozzie bites or two. Also, be mindful of ticks!
